Leon Goretzka, the 29-year-old midfielder, was treated badly by Bayern Munich, according to the former sporting director of the Bavarians.
Former Germany international and former Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer has said his former club’s treatment of Leon Goretzka is “unheard of” after the Bavarians made their treatment of the player public, Amazon Prime revealed on Wednesday.
Bayern Munich expressed their intention to sell Goretzka last summer but the player, who is contracted to the club until 2026, is keen to stay, despite sporting director Max Eberl having made it public his intention to part ways with the 29-year-old midfielder.
‘Bayern Munich decided to do this. I didn’t make the decision based on any motive. Personally, I wouldn’t do it. It’s strange for Bayern Munich. I’ve never seen this happen publicly before.’
‘I’m not criticising anything, I’m just questioning what this means to people’s souls. I’ve never seen anything like this before, and I’ve never seen it at Promotion Ufabet the top international level. If one day I don’t need someone anymore, you can solve the problem in other ways than PR,’ Sammer said of Bayern Munich’s treatment of Goretzka.
Max Eberl and co. faced the daunting task of revamping the Bayern Munich squad this summer. And amid a whirlwind summer transfer window, Bayern made a total of three signings. On the pitch, Vincent Kompany’s side has won its first three matches of the new season.
